Richard Fields Philanthropy

Richard Fields is a native New Yorker best known for resort and Indian gaming/casino developments, including the Seminole Hard Rock Resort & Casino locations in Tampa and Hollywood, Florida. Richard Fields is also a rancher and owner of Jackson Land and Cattle, in Jackson, Wyoming. In 2006, Richard Fields became the owner of Suffolk Downs race track.

  • In 2007, Richard Fields donated $1.7 million to The University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) to help fund a research and clinical center for facioscapulohumeral dystrophy (FSHD), a form of muscular dystrophy. Richard Field’s gift is the largest private donation for a specific disease program in the Medical Center’s history.
  • Richard Fields is also committed to helping underprivileged/neglected children. His involvement encompasses the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Good Shepherd Services. He also supports the Jackson High School 4H and rodeo teams by providing them with facilities on his ranch for training their animals.
  • Fields and his family have also committed to placing an easement on the open cattle range he owns as part of his ranch. This easement will preserve the land and the culture of the Jackson area.
