Oprah Winfrey is most well known for her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, but she also has many other media holdings, including a book club, magazines, and multimedia website. She is the first African American woman to make the Forbes list of billionaires.
- Through her Angel Network, Oprah Winfrey has raised $50 million for Third World schools, $10 million for Katrina relief and $1 million for tsunami aid. Because Winfrey personally covers the administrative costs, 100% of funds raised for the Angel Network goes to charity programs.
- Winfrey also initiated a campaign for a national database for convicted child abusers. This campaign was motivated by her experiences of child abuse.

I have what I believe to be a very sound idea. How do I contact Oprah Winfrey or any of the other philanthropists concerning a review of my ideas?
Thanks for your question, Niles. Your best bet is to contact Oprah’s foundation, The Angel Network: http://oprahsangelnetwork.org/.
