I read on CNN that a lot of billionaires were giving away half of their wealth to charity. A nice idea, but is anyone cognizant of the fact that Americans are in need, too? Hundreds of thousands of us have exhausted all of our unemployment benefits and have no income at all. I, personally, don’t know anyone who still has a job. I’ve been unemployed for over two years. I’m down to the last of my money. I’ve had to go on food stamps, for the first time in my life (after being in the workforce for 45 years, supporting myself). I can’t possibly pay my bills, so I’m going to have to file bankruptcy. I wrote a rent check the other day, knowing I have no funds to cover it – my overdraft protection will cover it…for this month. If I don’t find a job by the middle of this month, I will have NO WAY TO PAY THE RENT NEXT MONTH. I’m 60 years old. I have no family, no friends who can help, no assets, and I’m horrified of the idea of being homeless. But, I may have to face that crisis. My unemployment benefits ran out a couple of months ago, and the bill that the President signed a week or so ago (to extend benefits) doesn’t restore benefits to me, and others who are considered the “long term unemployed.” What do I do, to keep from sleeping in a cardboard box, while you’re giving money to all sorts of charities, none which address America’s unemployment problem? WE need help, too! How about setting up some program to help long-term unemployed Americans? Or a job creation program? Certainly, our government doesn’t care – Congress is too busy taking vacations to sign a bill to extend our benefits for another month or two. And we all know how much Obama has done to create jobs…

Dear Friend,

During the past 20 plus years, over 30,000 addicts and alcoholics have benefited from the services offered at American Recovery Center. We firmly believe that the knowledge and life skills acquired here translate into a life long program of recovery for many of our graduates.

American Recovery Center has evolved over the past several years to meet the needs of the community. In addition to the detoxification and residential services we have offered from the beginning, we have added outpatient services. The population that we serve has been expanded to include single parents with their children, individuals afflicted with HIV and/or AIDS and the mentally ill. American Recovery Center is the treatment home for the Pomona Drug Court and also provides service to individuals recently released from County, State, and Federal institutions.

In addition to substance abuse treatment, our clients are able to reap the benefits of adult education, vocational rehabilitation and parenting classes. Graduates from American Recovery Center programs leave the program with better opportunities for employment, housing, and education, which enable them to become productive and welcomed members of the society.

Our efforts to improve the community are often tireless and immeasurable. With your support, lives and communities are transformed. We look forward to working with you. And your support is greatly appreciated.

During this time of budget crisis our programs have taken tremendous cuts in funding. This has not only limited the number of individuals that we are able to treat, but it has also greatly affected the quality of services that we provide. It is because of this, that we are making a major effort to reach out to out community partners for assistance. However you feel led to help us will be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Thank you for making a difference.

Sincerely,

Hi Christy Walton
Happy mother Day.
I do not know you are, but I believe what is behind your great smile.
For the first time I saw names and faces of the richest women in the world, and as a woman I was really proud of that. I choose you to help Moms in my home, Nuba Mountains in Sudan.
My name is Khamisa I am civil war women survival. I came to USA as refuge with my seven children (six boys and one girl). All of them are doing great, but I still I can sleep even after I am not afraid any more about what my children we eat tomorrow because of women of Nuba Mountains in Sudan who were lost their limbs during the war and after war because the government planned mines on their fruits’ trees and land. As a mother she can not hold herself from climbing the trees to get food for her starving child who crying the whole night. I tried harder, but I did not find support. Last year I drew a picture of disable woman from Nuba Mountains and I display that with my art show and ask for support to help those women. Until now I did not found the help I need. I need your help to make a living for those disabilities mothers who are lived in Nuba. They are suffering a lot. They are widows, lost their home, children. They are sick of war Diseases, poverty and others in Mountains’ villages without hope, and help their community to get rid of mines. This the gift I ask you for mothers at Nuba Mountains.
Thank you

The Restore Hope Information Technology Center (RHITC) is an organization offering a broad range of technology-related services that aim to allow all community members in the Dukwi refugee camp and surrounding Dukwi village to benefit from educational and economic opportunities created by information technologies. RHITC's mission is to bridge the technological gap between the greater Dukwi community with other outside communities. In doing so, RHITC seeks to not only provide practical skills training, but to also empower its community members with health and HIV/AIDS education through an innovative and interactive approach by incorporating health and HIV/AIDS education into all projects and materials produced by students.
Please support us to rean our goals
